Hello! Thanks for visiting Elsie Pop. I’m Louise and I run this UK-based crochet and craft blog. Expect yarn, cats, a one-eyed dog, unfinished projects and a lot of colour.
The first thing I should probably cover is that I’m not actually called Elsie. I’m Louise C (L.C. – get it?) and our lovely 3 year old yellow labrador called Poppy who sneaks her way into most things, including my blog name!
I set up Elsie Pop after admiring a whole host of the internet’s best crochet blogs (and even knitting blogs! I’m bi-craftual!) for many years and receiving great feedback on my crochet makes from friends and family on social media. I decided if I loved crafty blogs so much I should just write my own, and here we are over two years later.
I’ve been told that as a knitter or crocheter you are either a texture person or a colour person – I’m a colour person through and through. I would describe my happiest colour palette as “never knowingly muted”
I work in London part-time in an office job, so I’m often found crocheting in the corner of a crowded train – and I’m not afraid to tackle anything on my commute. When I’m not practising commuter crochet, I’m usually found crocheting under a cat or in a pub.
I make a lot of gifts for my friends and family – I’m at the age where everyone I know seems to be getting married, having babies and having big birthdays – so I have a really varied project list. Wedding crochet is my absolute favourite though! Nothing makes me prouder than seeing my work play an integral part of someone’s wedding day – ring cushions, amigurumi brides and grooms, even handmade wedding bouquets and buttonholes – I am a fearless crafter and will make anything!
At the moment, I don’t sell any of my work. I like to work according to what I’m interested in at the time, and taking orders stifles a bit of my creativity. Instead I like to make, wear, gift and blog about my creations.
Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you here again soon!

p.s. I do use some affiliate links on this site. Using these links will never cost you any more money than buying direct, but will give me a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking through. This is an essential part of being able to run this site. If you don’t want to purchase through an affiliate link, I will always make it clear where to buy a product from so you are able to go direct.
p.p.s. I am occasionally sent products for review purposes by crafty brands. Where I have been sent a product for review, I will always disclose this within the post. Regardless of whether a product has been sent to me for review or if I have purchased it myself, I will always be honest about my opinions.
