It’s been a quiet time on the blog lately – sometimes life gets so busy that it gets away from you a bit and I’ve been going through one of those times lately. So here’s what’s been going on!
Poppy is back to full dog!
Our lovely Poppy is recovering really well after the operation to remove her eye. Her wound has totally healed and she is back to her bouncy, crazy excited self.
Most of the time she acts like she doesn’t even notice that her eye is missing. Now and again she will walk into something, which is still a little bit heartbreaking, but she never seems to care!
Superdog, I tell you!
Teaching crochet lessons
I love teaching crochet, so running lessons at Artesano is like a dream! I’m working with the lovely Jenny at Artesano on getting some more dates in the diary – when we have dates arranged I’ll post an update.
It feels a bit strange not being on holiday at the moment! Over the last month I’ve had a lovely weekend in Belfast and a week in Sardinia.
Naturally I found yarn shops everywhere I went. I now have some beautiful Irish and Sardinian yarns to play with!
Building my office
Project garden office is really starting to pick up pace. I decided that I needed a place as free from cats as possible if I want to take my crafting seriously – and inside the house wasn’t going to work, as our cats are house cats!
I have big plans for Elsie Pop HQ – including wallpaper, some great furniture finds and some yarn-y decor. I’m itching to finish the structure so I can get some furniture in and get things going.
I’ve enrolled on an upholstery course and, always one for a challenge, I’ve decided to reupholster this chair as my first project:
What is wrong with me?
So far, I’ve been having loads of fun stripping the chair back – I guess that’s the easy bit! I look forward to the challenge of the rest of the project. I have quite a lot to do, the chair wasn’t in great condition after a few puppy chewing incidents…
Redesigning my work life
Much as I love a spot of commuter crochet, spending a minimum of ten hours a week on trains, and taking a super stressful route, was killing me. I’m now only commuting part-time and taking a bit of time to focus on crafting. This sounds like a small change, but I can’t tell you how exciting it is!
Starting (not finishing) projects
I’ve had a crochet hook in my hand whenever I’ve been at home. I’ve made so much stuff, and I’ve documented none of it.
I’m going to try and catch up with my photography over the next couple of weeks, and maybe actually finish some projects and patterns, so hopefully all this work will pay off.
Oh but it’s been fun to crochet with no agenda! I’ve had a blast!
Until next time
Elsie Pop xx
