I can’t begin to explain how happy this post makes me! She’s finished!
I started on my Sophie’s Universe blanket at the start of March.
She came on holiday with me to the USA.
I crocheted her whilst staying in a colourful house in Florida.
She’s been on more trains than I’d care to admit.
She was too big for the train, and then I took her on the train again anyway and mercilessly elbowed my fellow commuters.
She’s been sat on by cats (quite a lot actually – they love her!).
She’s been sat on by a dog.
She’s been worked on in a few gardens… sometimes even at barbeques.
I’ve worked on her at my desk.
I’ve worked on her on my couch.
She’s been proudly laid out on my office floor.
She’s been spread out on my parent’s lawn peut on acheter du viagra en pharmacie.
I made her last stitch on a sun lounger – she is big enough to have been covering my feet to keep them warm in the late afternoon chill.
I weaved in her ends on the couch, leaving a trail of rogue yarn ends around the house.
I blocked her on my bed (and kept the cats away).
And now… she is finished!
This pattern was amazing to work. I didn’t need another blanket – I’m putting myself on a blanket ban now – but I’m so pleased I decided to stash-bust with this project.
My Sophie’s Universe is made from Stylecraft Special DK yarn. I used so many colours I haven’t even counted – but I’m delighted how my random choices have panned out over the course of the project. I’m not sure that I would’ve kept my interest levels as high with a smaller colour range.
Now I just need to find a lap worthy of her – I fear if she becomes a regularly featured blanket in my living room she will suffer from some cat-related damage (you’ve seen how Teddy feels about this blanket!).
Dedri, the pattern’s creator, really is a crochet genius. I absolutely bow down to her – anyone who can create something this beautiful is worthy of awe. A lot of awe.
…And now it’s time to get back to all my other WIPs! Ouch!
Until next time,
Elsie Pop xx
